GLASS SCATEBOARDING
Fall seven times, stand up eight.

Client: Karlis Bogustovs

Renown artist and glass sculptor Karlis Bogustovs combines his artworks and passion for skateboarding in this exhibition piece. Together with Pro-skater Madars Apse, Karils illustrates the robust nature of glass as they interact with his artworks. His elegant board skills and exploration of materials are captured with our high-speed Phantom Flex 4K camera at 1000 frames per second.

"Be careful with the sharp corners" we remember Karlis saying. One moment later Madars cut his leg quite badly before we even started to shoot. But fortunately, skateboarders don't feel pain after falling and getting back up a million times. When we thought that nothing more could go wrong we flew our drone into a tree and broke the gimbal. Shortly after Madars fell, and his skateboard missed the Phantom camera lens by a hair's breadth. Our Money shot. We learned that skateboarding is very similar to what we are doing. It is all about putting ideas into action. And to always get back up and keep pushing it.
